Our interpretation work for National Trust Stourhead ensured that ‘journey’ was referenced throughout.

A sense of journey seemed the overriding theme to all things at Stourhead; grand tour, the creative journey of the Henry’s, journey of Aeneas [walking from Flora to the Pantheon], the choice of Hercules [walking from the Pantheon to Apollo], the journey of ‘genius loci’ to ‘genius of the place’ - from the [classical] protective spirit of a place to the [contemporary] significant atmosphere of a place.
